The Man’s Guide to Grilling (that Every Woman Should Know)
Posted on 04. Jul, 2011 in Understanding Men
Ladies, now that summer is in full swing and the Fourth of July holiday is upon us, no doubt many of you will be attending a local barbeque with friends and family. However, for the lucky few of you, the man in your life will be the one tending the grill to host a barbeque of your own.
Therefore, I thought it would be helpful to educate women on the etiquette of this sublime outdoor cooking activity. When a man volunteers to barbeque on the grill, the following chain of events are put into motion:
- The woman buys the food.
- The woman makes the salad, prepares the vegetables, and makes dessert.
- The woman prepares the meat for cooking, places it on a tray along with the necessary cooking utensils and sauces, and takes it to the man who is lounging beside the grill with a beverage already in hand.
- The woman remains outside the compulsory 3-meter exclusion zone where the exuberance of testosterone and other manly bonding activities can take place without her interference
- Here comes the important part – THE MAN PLACES THE MEAT ON THE GRILL.
- The woman goes inside to organize the plates and cutlery.
- The woman comes out to tell the man that the meat is looking great. He thanks her and asks if she should bring him another beverage while he flips the meat.
- Important again - THE MAN TAKES THE MEAT OFF THE GRILL AND HANDS IT TO THE WOMAN.
- The woman prepares the plates, salad, bread, utensils, napkins, sauces, and brings them to the table.
- After eating, the woman clears the table and does the dishes.
- Most important of all – Everyone PRAISES the MAN and THANKS HIM for his awesome cooking abilities.
- The man asks the woman how she enjoyed “her day off,” and upon seeing her annoyed reaction, concludes that there’s just no pleasing some women!
